League Final

 League Final

Division 1 was won by Luke Gardner - he looked very nervous but held things together to get 6 successful lifts and the necessary 6 points
Division 2 was won by Linz who was also very nervous  but also also held things together to beat the more seasoned competitor  Josh Wu  who showed his experience getting 6 lifts and also managed to pull out a 11kg PB !
Division 3 was a close event Tom Rech caught 97 snatch and then relaxed when he stood up and dropped the lift ! - however he managed to get a PB Clean and Jerk of 122kg to move back into the lead only to be pipped by Tim.
Division 4 was won by Maddie Wu.

In the lift off Luke was awesome to Clean and Jerk a PB of 171  that crushed him when he caught it but its always hard for div 1 lifters to win the lift off.
Linz leant of the bar on the snatch and dropped it behind.

Leaving Tim and Maddie to battle out with Maddie taking the overall title and $800 - which is probably like $8000 when you are 14 !

Helpers

First off I would like to thank all the people that helped out loading,  in the canteen, refereeing and taking photos at the weekend.

People that always manage to be there when they want a lift but "have something on, or are working" when asked to help are really starting to annoy me and other people - this is not the way it works in a club !!

Young lifters

We now have a few lifters in the club born in 2000, 2002

Josh did 71, 92, 163 and James 73, 93, 166.

Looking forward

Looking foward

I am really enjoying being back in the gym and looking forward to what the next few years will hold -  its an exciting time in our sport !
It was great to see so many new people and especially kids competing at the JME at the weekend
Also it was awesome to hear that Matt Swift has nearly 100 people interested in lifting competitively  at CFB
Ben also is coaching weightlifting at a lot of Crossfit clubs on the Northside
The gym is really busy at the moment and I can see it getting busier - if you want more attention Wed and Sat are better training times as it tends to be quieter on those nights.
